Pullus’ Pinot Grigio has little in common with other Pinot Grigios. It is a wine of character, soul and distinction that very much differentiates itself from the others. First, check out its color. The grapes for Pullus’ PG are dark pink bordering on purple when mature. The skins are left to macerate in the pressed juice for 72 hours, giving its unique, copper-hued, slightly rosé-tinted color. Although it has some characteristics of a rosé, it is first and foremost a dry white wine.
It sees no wood, is naturally-fermented in stainless-steel vats with very low doses of sulfur employed in accordance with traditional “hands off” winemaking. On the palate, there are refreshing notes of fresh cut lime and a hint of pear with a surprisingly textured mouth-feel and bracing minerality from the extended skin contact. It’s clean, crisp and refreshing, yet complex and interesting at the same time.
