Finca la Carrodilla was founded in 2009 and is Mexico’s first certified Biodynamic winery; their flagship wine, ‘Canto de Luna’ aptly translates to “The Moonsong.” Finca la Carrodilla is located in the heart of the Valle de Guadalupe. The ‘Canto de Luna’ is made up of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Tempranillo, and 33% Shiraz and is aged for 9 months in French and American Oak. Winemaker Gustavo Gonzalez is a legend in the industry, having risen from a lab technician at Robert Mondavi to becoming the head winemaker of all red wines. He then left and embarked on a consulting career, with his Hall of Fame wine being Ornellaia’s 2001 Masseto. He started Mira, an organic winery in Napa, before returning to Mexico in 2015 to become the winemaker at Finca la Carrodilla.
