Bailly-Reverdy produces impeccable Sancerre that has rich fruit, crisp acidity and underlying minerality all in perfect harmony. This 2014 is a delicious, food-friendly, utterly enjoyable wine that won’t break the bank. Although the Domaine was officially created in 1988 with their first bottled vintage, the vineyards have been in the family since the early 1900s. The current generation, led by Franck Bailly and his nephew Aurelien, son of Franck's brother, Jean-François, has continued the family's tradition with improved wines that have remarkable consistency and quality.
The domaine consists of 22 hectares of vines that are all planted in the appellation of Sancerre, 15.8 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 6.5 hectares of Pinot Noir. While not technically organic, Bailly-Reverdydoes not use herbicides. They plant grass and herbs between their vine rows and practice 'lutte raisonnée' in the vineyard (sustainable practices).
