Azelia is one of my favorite Piedmont producers. Luigi Scavino and family make some of best Barolos from legendary vineyard sites, such as: Bricco Fiasco, San Rocco and Margheria. They also make an entry level Langhe nebbiolo that is a delight. This is an easier to drink style of nebbiolo with a fresh, floral bouquet, lots of spicy/jammy nebbiolo fruit with its own distinct character. This vinous Piedmont offering is more open than a Barolo and is delicious now, despite its youth. With its outgoing yet sophisticated personality, it would be a great Restaurant wine. Great pedigree, great wine making.
