History:Jean-François and Carmen Garon have now been joined by their son Fabien at this 2.5 hectare domaine, with its buildings tucked in right at the base of the Côte Blonde, just south of Ampuis. The success of their 2003 is the result of intensive work in the vines – where for once they may have been grateful for the vertiginously steep slopes of Côte Rôtie, which keep rain damage to a minimum by allowing the water to run off immediately. They make only one wine, and of course on such a scale, everything is done by hand in the traditional way. No more than 20% of the wood used is new.
