History:It all begins with a legend from the 7th century in which the first protecter of the parish of Gueberschwihr, Saint Imer, defended the vineyards against demons. Many parchments, in particular one dating from 1345, claim that the name of the saint was given to the best vines of the village.

The present day history of Ernest Burn begins in 1934 when Ernest Burn himself set about to reconstitute his family's vineyards after their destruction by successive wars and the ravages of phylloxera.

The vineyards of Clos St. Imer, to which a chapel is dedicated, have become plentiful. The Burn family ensures that all work on the vineyards of St. Imer are done manually, showing a profound respect for nature and vinification.
